Our café exudes history and Karelian tradition and offers a nuanced combination of both new trends and traditional Karelian flavours. The café is named after kauppaneuvos Antti Juhana Mustonen who built the block the café is located back in 1870.
Kauppaneuvoksen Kahvila’s bakery's delicious oven-fresh pastries and traditional Karelian delicacies are made from high-quality ingredients. You can get to know the product selection conveniently online or by visiting our café. You can also order our bakery products directly from our Finnish website.
We have various indoor seating as well as a terrace for the ones who love fresh air. Accessibility to Mustonen building is available through our inner courtyard via ramp, that is suitable for walkers, baby carriages and wheel chairs. You are free to walk in but making a reservation is also possible.
We rent the following rooms for private use and according to your needs; the Blue Chamber, the White Cabinet, the Red Cabinet, Anna's Chamber, Mustonen’s Cabinet, and Taito Gallery which is located in the red brick building. These spaces are available for booking various types of events and meetings. You can access our Taito Gallery via staircase facing Koskikatu, which has a chairlift installed.
Kauppaneuvoksen Kahvila is located in the city centre (Koskikatu 1). The easiest way to park your car is to drive to the parking lot under the square or to park next to the cafe in the Elielinkuja parking lot. Additionally, you can safely leave your bike at the bike parking in the block. All local and long-distance busses stop in Koskikatu, 50-150meters from our café. Lastly, a taxi stand is located 50meters from the café on the edge of the city square.
